The Down Syndrome Association of Delaware and the Delaware County Down Syndrome Interest Group are pleased to partner together to offer a Behavior and Boundaries Conference to their families. Dr. Lina Patel, an expert on the topic, will be offering three sessions (listed below).

• Behavioral strategies to manage challenging behaviors
• Teaching good boundaries
• School behavioral plans and advocacy in the schools

iCan Bike Camp 2018

Maggie McHugh from Notre Dame asked me to share their bike camp information with the members of DSIG. This year they will be hosting this camp for their 9th year! I can tell you from personal experience that this was one of the best decisions that I have made in my life when I decided to sign Lauren up for this camp! We did not find this camp until Lauren was 21 years old, but I always knew that she could ride, we just needed to find the right way to teach her. Thanks to this camp, Lauren is an awesome and safe bike rider and we very much enjoy our very long bike rides in Ocean City, NJ!

Anne Bradley Leopold, the founder of Emmaus House will speak about the history of the program, what it offers, answer questions and provide information for anyone who wishes to possibly join or be involved. Emmaus is non-profit organization that provides day programs and housing for adults with intellectual disabilities. The day program is located on Dutton Mill Road in Aston, PA.
