Exciting Opportunity: DelcoDSIG to Sponsor 5 Teachers for National Down Syndrome Congress Educators Conference!
Dec 2 @ 12:00 am – 11:59 pm

🎉We are so excited to share this wonderful opportunity that is available for our local Down syndrome community!

Delco DSIG, and a few other local organizations, have partnered with The National Down Syndrome Congress to bring the Greater Philadelphia Region Educators Conference to our area.

🗓️Saturday, February 8, 2025
📍Riverfront Events/ Wilmington, Delaware

This unique conference offers practical, research-based strategies that general and special education teachers can immediately implement to support students with intellectual disabilities, including Down syndrome.

💙💛What’s even more exciting… DelcoDSIG is looking to SPONSOR FIVE Delco teachers. We will cover the entire registration fee for five teachers in our area.

🙌🏽What you can do…. Share this flyer and sponsorship application link with your child’s special education teacher. The more teachers we can get to this conference, the more support our members’ teachers have to work with our community now and in the future!

💰All applications must be received by Monday, December 2, 2024, to be eligible for the DSIG sponsorship.

Penn State College of Medicine Disability Education - Children & Youth with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities Registration. @ Zoom
DATE: 12/5/2024 and 12/12/2024
TIME:  8-10am
WHERE: Zoom

The Penn State College of Medicine is thrilled to be offering innovative disability-focused education to their students this winter focused on caring for children and young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

As part of this education, they need people to sign-up as “standardized patients.” The child or young adult with I/DD and 1 caregiver (parent or legal guardian) will both be compensated for their time.

All standardized patients (21 years old or YOUNGER) and their caregiver must participate in the mandatory 1 hour training session (via Zoom, multiple times offered TBD – late November/early December) and at least 1 educational class session.

Your participation will help the Penn State College of Medicine develop and evaluate this curriculum as a model for other US medical schools, and ultimately, help improve healthcare for people with disabilities.
