The annual DSIG Holiday Party will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, from 6 to 9 PM at Paxon Hollow Country Club. Come join us for a night of dinner, dancing & great friendship! RSVP is required for this event.
Please email Megan at [email protected] with the number of adults and number of children (12 and under). There is a strict RSVP date of Friday, November 29, 2019. No late responses will be honored.
As in years past, we will be collecting for a local food pantry, so please bring a $10 donation or $10 in food items, and consider this your admission to the party.
Last but not least, annual dues will be collected for 2020 at this event. Our dues will remain the same as in previous years at $10 per household.
Please join us on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Ridley Creek State Park (picnic Area 11) for the second annual 5K Run for Homies with Extra Chromies presented by InkAway Laser Tattoo Removal to benefit the Down Syndrome Interest Group of Delaware County. This course is USATF certified. Walkers are also welcomed to join!

Proceeds of the race will benefit The Delaware County Down Syndrome Interest Group (DSIG). DSIG is a 501(c) non-profit organization that was formed in 1990 by a group of families touched by Down Syndrome in Delaware County. They strive to promote professional and public awareness and encourage inclusion for those with Down Syndrome. Their goals are to reach out to expectant and new parents of a child with Down Syndrome, to be supportive of and provide social interaction for people with Down Syndrome, their families, friends and acquaintances, to aid and challenge each family to constantly evaluate and re-think how new ideas, information and technology may help or affect their child with Down Syndrome and to educate the general public by assisting members of our community in learning to see people with disabilities as people, not as their disability. Please use our specific code âDSANâ for this year’s Down Syndrome Awareness Day with the Philadelphia Phillies (The National League Champions). The game will be against the Colorado Rockies at 12:05pm,on April 23rd. Itâs also the Phanaticâs birthday, so children under 14 get a free Phanatic t-shirt!

Overall we average about 650 tickets each season; for those who support our DS community, please donât delay placing your order!
Additionally, the more tickets we sell the more likely we are able to receive additional perks and funds which enable us to do other community outings throughout the year.

Join us for our Bingo Brainstorming Call on Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00 pm. We will be brainstorming ideas for the next DSIG Bingo event (10/21/23), forming a bingo planning committee, and sharing feedback from past bingo events. If you are interested in helping brainstorm, soliciting donations, or joining the committee, join us from the comforts of your home.  We appreciate ANY help you are willing to provide.

We Are So Lucky!!
Down to Box is launching in Ridley Park. May 20 we will be conducting a coaches training and the program will launch for regular weekly classes shortly after!
Down to Box is conducting a coachesâ training Saturday May 20 at Jabz Boxing (3488 Concord Rd, Aston, PA 19014). Children with Down syndrome and their siblings between the ages of 6-13 are welcome from 1-1:30pm and adults ages 14 and older with Down syndrome or other intellectual and developmental disabilities from 2-2:30pm.
Please email [email protected] to sign up. There is no cost to attend- this is a mini demo class that is part of our coachesâ training that day.
Participants will be doing footwork drills, light boxing techniques on a bag and with mitts, cardio and strength exercises- all for beginners.
Delco DSIG is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Unless specifically requested by the donor, donations are not considered restricted and all donations are confirmed with a receipt for tax reporting purpose.
