Our guest speakers this month will be the Arcadia University Doctor of Physical Therapy students and they will be presenting recent literature and recommendations regarding exercise for adolescents, Â teenagers and young adults with Down syndrome. Parents and families of all ages are welcome to attend, but the focus of the presentation will be on middle school age and above. This presentation will be similar to the presentation provided last year, but with additional research findings and resources.
When:Â Thursday, 4/23/15
Time:Â Doors open at 7pm, meeting begins at 7:30pm
Where:Â Hancock Church, located in Springfield, PA on Route 320, just off the intersection of Route 420.
Please bring your teen, adolescent or young adult with you to this interactive meeting.

The iCan Shine Bike Camp will once again be coming to our area this year. This camp is a wonderful experience for your child or young adult to learn how to ride a 2-wheel bike. This program has been attended by many of our members who now know how to ride a 2-wheel bike independently.

Where:Â Notre Dame Academy in Villanova, PA

If you are a paid member of DSIG and your child completes the full week of camp, you will reimbursed by DSIG for the cost of the camp after completion of the camp.
You must be at least 8 years of age to attend and must meet the criteria that is listed on the iCan Shine website at www.icanshine.org. I encourage you to visit their website for information and videos on the iCan Bike Camps.

Storytellers from the “A Fierce Kind of Love” storytelling workshops will take to the stage with their true tales about how disability affects families.
