A research team at Thomas Jefferson University is currently seeking individuals with Down Syndrome between the ages of 10 and 35 to participate in an important breathing assessment study led by Dr. Jay Nair, physical therapist and professor at Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
The goal of this study is to better understand the breathing challenges that many individuals with Down Syndrome experience and to help advance research that could improve care in the future.
What participation involves:
Two study visits at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia
Each visit lasts approximately 2–4 hours
Assessments may include breathing tests, MRI imaging, and magnetic stimulation techniques
Participant benefits:
$100 compensation for participation
Parking costs covered
This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to research that may benefit individuals with Down Syndrome for years to come. Participation is completely voluntary, and participants may withdraw at any time without affecting their care at Jefferson.
